Kallistos Ware is an archbishop in the Eastern Orthodox Church, and his book on one level is an introduction to the life and faith of Orthodox Christians. But at a deeper level it is an invitation to live a fully human life, discovering the God who is both beyond our understanding, but also uniquely close to us.

“There is only one means of discovering the true nature of Christianity,” says Kallistos Ware. “We must step out upon this path, commit ourselves to this way of life, and then we shall begin to see for ourselves. So long as we remain outside, we cannot properly understand.”
