Has Jesus got any questions to ask me?

I wonder if Jesus could ask me a question, what would it be? Are there any records of Jesus saying things that are relevant today and to me?

You’d think that the sayings of someone who lived 2,000 years ago would be stuck inside a dusty old textbook somewhere, rather than being used every day out on the street – but think again. A good number of the sayings of Jesus are used in modern English. Amongst them you may be able to find some statements that question you and your life.

The gospels contain many stories and instances of what Jesus said to people that wanted to know how to follow him; what they would have to do or give up. This module is a modern job description compiled from various things Jesus said to his early followers.

Almost everything Jesus said can be found in the four Gospels. The rest of the new testament, and much writing and theology since has been about interpreting and fully understanding what his words meant. But you can very easily read them for yourself and if you have ears to hear (as Jesus said) you may find questions addressed to you leap off the page.

On of the most famous sermons Jesus preached was the Sermon On The Mount. It contains a beautiful section called The Beatitudes which people have thought about ever since. You can read The Beatitudes here.
