See no evil? The unlikely spot of a parking lot in a small town has become something of a shrine. Rather than being simply dismissed as graffiti it seems this image has touched people. The surrounding shops and restaurants aren’t complaining either – pilgrims are often hungry.
But it isn’t long before people start to ask themselves what the image means. What is Jesus’ gesture saying?
Some say that he doens’t want to look at the town of Bedford anymore. Or he doesn’t want to look at the whole world; he’s so distraught with what’s going on that he can’t bare to look. Someone suggested that he’s wiping away tears. Perhaps he’s playing hide-and-seek.
It seems that most people are agreed that the image should stay.
Close-upA look around also turns up some other interesting street art. Of particular note are these two.
