The Christmas Story in Under 30 Seconds

04/11/08 | Posted by MattPage

A competition has been launched challenging the public to tell the story of Jesus’ birth in just thirty seconds. It’s the latest campaign from the Churches Advertising Network whose previous Christmas campaigns included putting a baby’s head on Che Guvera’s body and describing the Virgin Mary as having a "bad hair day".

The campaign was inspired by an video posted on YouTube last year which ran for comparatively lengthy four minutes. But this year, all entrants have to do to qualify for the £500 first prize is produce thirty second radio ad (although video adverts are also welcome). The organisers point to a recent survey which found that only 12% of adults and just 7% of 18-24 year olds have a good grasp of the Christmas story. Perhaps they’ve never browsed our Christmas pages...
