Dan Brown’s religious conspiracy theory novel, “The DaVinci Code” opened the eyes to millions of people to the fact that there were whole bunch of gospels that they had never even heard of. Suddenly all kinds of people were claiming that there was all sorts of information about Jesus that the general public never knew existed. More ...

07/03/09 | Posted by Andrew Wooding | Permalink | (0) Comments

The upcoming Doctor Who Easter special - (what is it with Doctor Who always coming back at Easter?) - promises to be a fun romp, with a London double decker bus plonked in the middle of a desert, a guest turn from comedian Lee Evans, former Eastender and Bionic Woman Michelle Ryan as the Doctor’s one-off companion, plus the involvement of UNIT, the Doctor’s soldier colleagues that go all the way back to his time as Doctor number two. The special is called Planet of the Dead … but which planet, and who’s dead? No idea! Soup Kitchen

If Jesus were alive today in one of the UK’s inner cities where would he be? Somehow I can’t see him as a city banker with a big bonus and a flash car. Perhaps he might be working with the poor. He spent a lot of his time with the outcasts of his day so maybe he would be working in one of the soup kitchens run by one of the churches or the Salvation Army. But would he be getting into trouble? More ...

Once bitten forever smitten. Or so it would seem. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a 14 year-old fan of Twilight, a Victorian reader of Bram Stoker, or a medieval French clegyman writing a report of unsettling happenings in your parish. Once you’ve glimpsed the pale and interesting face of vampirism, you fall under its spell.
